What does it cost?
Planday looks cheap – until you add payroll
Planday's Starter plan costs SEK 45 per user and month with a minimum of 5 users, and the Plus plan SEK 60 per user plus a SEK 600 monthly subscription fee. Plus requires a minimum of 10 users, so with 5 employees you pay the same as with 10. But neither plan runs payroll – you need a payroll system on the side. ShiftCore Medium costs SEK 59 per user and month with payroll, unsocial-hours pay and collective agreements included.

Planday's prices were taken from their pricing page in October 2026, are listed in SEK and may have changed. The Plus plan requires a minimum of 10 users, so with 5 employees you pay the same price as with 10. On top of Planday you need a separate payroll system. What sets the systems apart
Payroll included – or not
Planday prepares payroll data but doesn't run payroll. In ShiftCore, approved hours become pay directly, with unsocial-hours supplements, collective agreements, tips and PAYE reporting – or export to Fortnox and Visma if you prefer.
Free to start
ShiftCore's Free plan with scheduling and time clock costs SEK 0, with no minimum user count. Planday has a 30-day trial but no free plan, and requires at least 5–10 users depending on the plan.
Swedish rules from the start
ShiftCore is built in Umeå for Swedish working rules: unsocial-hours pay, staff registers and Swedish collective agreements are built in. Planday is an international platform where Swedish rules require more manual configuration.
Priced in Swedish kronor
ShiftCore bills in kronor per user and month, with no lock-in and no subscription fees on the side. Planday charges a fixed SEK 600 monthly fee on the Plus plan.
